That's a really nice use of the cursor system there novax.

Good work.

I'd love to have someone bilingual translate the instructions, but it's a lot of work for someone.

Hi,

first sorry about my english, its not my mothers tonge.

second thx for this awesome software.

Now, my problem:

I've been trying to make a layout with menus, searched the site and i still cant make the menu work.

I followed the instructions and added de controller, added the rectangles and tryed to move around, but the coordinates dont change.

my boundries for the controller are 1, 1, 1, 2

the coords for the rectangles are 1, 1 and 1, 2

didnt change colors or anything.

Your test layout works perfectly as well as others but i just cant make mine works...

I don't know if im missing a step or something but i'm a programmer myself and this is getting frustating.

i tryed to clone your config for the menu to no abail.

Finally tryed the easyest layout (as described) with just 3 elements, the controller and the cursor rectangles...

If anyone can help I would apreciate it.

Thx

Have you set the up/down/left/right keys? You have to set these or nothing happens.

I did set them,

As a matter of fact, when i set them they were showing "up release" and i saw that yours were "up pressed" so i tryed pushing and not releasing, but nothing happends anyway...

Ho now that you're back, I'm able to make your plugin crash quite quickly using my latests layouts (CSS one for example)... In fact using the M keys to switch pages (sometimes rapidly) seems to be quite deadly for it...

Fixed, but be careful what cursor mode you're using.... The activate/move & select is quite tricky....

Thx for fixing it. Could you explain me my error?

This is just to learn how to make layouts not to make just this one.

In fact try using the different cursor mods available, the most complex ones (4 directions + selection + reselect) are a bit tricky to use and not that useful (sry Triscopic...;)), for you're layout, I've re affected the control keys (using the same ones) and it worked..... I think there is a little glitch here....

Glad it's fixed.

The issue is strange... and I believe it's in LCDHost. Did you edit the xml file by hand at all? I rebound the Up key and compared the saved xml file with the original one:

Original:
Code: [Select]
        <setupitem>
            <identity name="Up" type="12"/>
            <value type="QString">Up pressed @ Logitech QVGA device</value>
            <extra str="" int="1780311843"/>
        </setupitem>

New:
Code: [Select]
        <setupitem>
            <identity name="Up" type="12"/>
            <value type="QString">Up pressed @ Logitech QVGA device</value>
            <extra str="Up" int="32773"/>
        </setupitem>

Note the change in the key binding.

It looks like LCDHost did something weird when you tried to assign the key presses. Can you try rebinding them with Ender's working layout and see if that breaks? And can you then try binding the normal cursor keys and see what happens then?

Update: Just noticed ALL four of your key bindings are "<extra str="" int="1780311843"/>" I wonder if SirReal can shed any light...

In fact ... the most complex [cursor modes] (4 directions + selection + reselect) are a bit tricky to use and not that useful (sry Triscopic...;))

Maybe you're just not using them right ;-D. Actually, the combinations are more there for completeness; that said 4+sel/resel is one of the ones I use the most. It's designed for menu layouts: i.e. it's "always on" so no activation required, and you can use the menu button to revert to the previous layout so you can easily cancel out of the menu.

Gonna need that layout then, as I can bind the m-keys fine with no crashes at all.

The layout is in the layout section....;) in fact the plugin crash when you "spam" the M keys....(not normal use but....), end often crash after some use...
